Tiny Menace

One tiny idiot. One deadly room. Sixty seconds. Keep the cheeky goblin alive while their curiosity turns the room into a chain reaction machine.

The prototype now uses real CC0 pixel assets, a wider side-scrolling scene, and more object mechanics so it feels like a game map instead of a squished sketch.

Core loop

  • Spawn a lovable AI goblin into a fixed but wide side-scrolling room.
  • The goblin forms intentions: poke, climb, taste, press, steal, inspect.
  • The player reads visual tells and places tools instead of directly controlling movement.
  • The scene runs for sixty seconds; surviving with more chaos and fewer interventions scores higher.

Toolbox

  • Barrier: blocks the goblin or slows a rolling hazard.
  • Lure: gives the goblin a safer shiny thing to investigate.
  • Water: extinguishes fire, but can create electric puddles.
  • Bubble: short protection that can also make the goblin braver.
  • Magnet: pulls metal crates/TNT/wires toward the click point.
  • Freeze: pauses fire/saw/drone movement briefly.
  • Threat tells: the intent panel, arrows, chaos director, and combo banner warn you before a chain reaction pops.

AI personality

Cheeky, readable, affectionate, and catastrophic. The goblin is not trying to die; they just think every red button, flame, vent, saw, and suspicious mushroom deserves hands-on research.

MVP target

First shippable slice: one kitchen/workshop scene, six tools, ten hazards/props, visible intention bubbles, scoring, camera follow, and chain-reaction systems for fire, water, electricity, panic, metal, and machines.
